SPEC OPS AWARDED NAVY IDIQ CONTRACT FOR
MODULAR COMMAND POST SYSTEMS
Spec Ops to supply 27 Deployable MCPS
units to NAVFAC Southwest in Port Hueneme, CA
November 15, 2007
RICHMOND, VA –
Spec Ops, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a
$1,834,362 contract (including $638,604 option) from Naval
Facilities (NAVFAC) Southwest for Modular Command Post Systems
(MCPS). The competitively bid Indefinite Delivery
Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract consists of twenty seven
(27) MCPS units that will be delivered to Port Hueneme, CA over
a two year period.
The Modular Command Post System (MCPS) is
a highly mobile, self-contained system that can be easily
transported, assembled and operational in minutes. The
MCPS includes three (3) DLP projectors, three (3) 4 ft. x 3 ft.
screens, ruggedized 2” aluminum aircraft framesets, 12
Smart Tables, 2 tactical cases capable of holding 12 chairs
each and a power distribution unit with a 4x4 video matrix
switch.
The MCPS framework structure is rapidly
reconfigured for small or large command units and is easily
transported by commercial and military transportation.
All MCPS units employ pre-wired cabling components that
are composed of fiber optics, copper or a combination.
Unique CAT-5 cabling and video switch configurations are
used for video distribution. The Smart Tables are
equipped with two networks (gigabit switches) and integrated
power distribution. The Smart Table technology provides
portable, folded tables with built-in cables and network
components that can be “ganged together” in a
variety of configurations for tailored customer applications.
The integrated power, video and network cables increase
unit readiness and substantially reduce time for set-up and
rapid redeployment to new locations.
The MCPS units will be manufactured in
Spec Ops’ ISO 9001-2000 registered manufacturing
facilities in Ashland, Virginia.
The MCPS is a turn-key, pre-positioned
system that can be utilized in a fixed facility (i.e. building,
gymnasium, hotel lobby, aircraft hanger, etc.) or deployable
shelter application for homeland security or military
environments. The MCPS hardware and software can be
tailored to meet a variety of special purpose applications for:
Military Command and Control Applications, Mobile Police
Command Posts, Security Monitoring for Large Events,
Civil-Military Operations Centers (CMOC), Chemical-Biological
Incident Response Force (CBIRF) Ops Centers and Homeland
Defense Applications.
