U.S. Navy Awards IDIQ Contract to Spec
Ops for Mobile Command Stations
Deployable 8-Screen Single Case System to
be Utilized by SPAWAR Customers Globally
October 18, 2007
RICHMOND, VA –
Spec Ops, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a two year
contract with the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Center Charleston (SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston) for Mobile Command
Stations (MCS). The competitively bid Indefinite Delivery
Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract has a ceiling of $1,004,750
which can be utilized by SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston.
The Mobile Command Station is a four
operator command station that is housed in one ruggedized Spec
Ops transit case. Within the pre-wired MCS transit case
are eight (8) 19” LCD displays, 8 Ground Fault Indicator
(GFI) receptacles, 2 mounted 8-port Gigabit switches,
20-Ethernet connections (6-Classified, 6-Unclassified,
8-RJ-11 ports), 6-phone connections,
16-VGA connections, two tables and four chairs.
Additionally, the MCS cable management
system also incorporates a 20A twist lock output receptacle
that allows several MCSs to be connected serially thus
providing up to 8 operators with laptops and 16 LCD displays to
be managed from one set of original cabling.
The MCS is easily transportable by four
personnel and the fully pre-wired, single case system is
rapidly set up by two users in 15 minutes.
“The MCS is a logical progression
of our product development teams and this system fully
complements our existing installed base of 25,000 products
throughout the world”, stated Paul Garner, President of
Spec Ops, Inc.
The MCS (patent pending) integrates the
product designs of several Spec Ops’ highly deployable
and ruggedized C2/C4 systems that are currently deployed
throughout the world. The backbone of the MCS system has
successfully withstood the deployment schedules of U.S. forces
in the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The versatility and functionality of the
MCS has applications far beyond the applications envisioned by
the U.S. Navy. Since the MCS will provide a rapidly
deployable and reconfigurable command station for four users,
it is envisioned that the MCS will have direct applications to:
1. Tactical
Operations Centers (TOC)
2. Civilian Incident
Command Posts (ICP)
3. Emergency
Operations Centers (EOC)
4. Continuity of
Operations (COOP)
5. Business
Continuity
6. Long Distance
Learning Centers
7. First Responder
Command Centers
8. Tactical
Surveillance Operations
“Spec Ops employees have a long
history with the U.S. Navy and we are excited to be able to
continue supporting SPAWAR’s C2/C4ISR missions in the
U.S. and abroad”, noted Joe Swider, VP Business
Development Spec Ops, Inc.
