RICHMOND, VA – Spec Ops, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a major contract to provide Jefferson County, Alabama the tactical command and control hardware, displays and communications equipment for the county’s first Mobile Emergency Operations Center (M-EOC). These lightweight and highly deployable pre-positioned M-EOC’s will be utilized by homeland security and emergency management personnel in the event of a natural disaster or during a homeland security crisis.

Jefferson County’s M-EOC is designed to be a prepositioned EMA asset that is rapidly deployed anywhere in the county, Alabama or Southeastern U.S. during an emergency. This turnkey M-EOC system will be utilized as the main Emergency Operations Center and will coordinate the efforts of all fire, police, homeland security, national guard, humanitarian and EMS personnel during an operation. This system can be deployed as one central operations center or it can be split in to three separate shelters with three independent smaller M-EOCs. These M-EOCs can also be utilized in a support role to other Alabama governments and Federal agencies.

Jefferson County’s M-EOC system includes nine Rapid Tactical Operations Centers (R-TOC): Two dual screen and two single screen systems positioned in the smaller shelters and a larger three image single screen control system in the main Shelter. All images over the network can be seamlessly and instantaneously moved to any of the nine screens throughout the three shelters. The M-EOC also includes Spec Ops’ proprietary Smart Tables (with fully enclosed cable/network cabling) which virtually eliminates the clutter of cable management.
